Estuary Sailing navigation
and sea school is ideal for people wishing for
quality tuition at a leisurely pace.
Encompassing both RYA training and other leisure
sailing activity it is based on the River Crouch
at the quiet and peaceful village of North
Fambridge in Essex.
The sheltered waters are ideal for not only
beginners to boats and sailing, but also more
experienced sailors. The river has a blend of
peaceful countryside, wild marshland, with the
historical sailing port of Burnham on Crouch
nearby.
In bygone days past this whole area had a
reputation for smuggling, and is also steeped in
maritime history. The Crouch and nearby River
Roach are a haven for birdlife with quiet
anchorages for peaceful enjoyment and planning
tides!
Given the close proximity of the Thames Estuary
there is an ideal mix of sheltered rivers to the
more challenging (at times!) exposed waters of
the outer estuary with its sandbanks and
swatchways.
The sea school you will find has no hard and
fast set timing for courses or sailings. Instead
of ‘preset course dates and timing’ we provide
courses based upon demand, and will adjust dates
etc to suit student needs.
Our dedicated training room caters for up to 8
people with coffee and snacks provided. With a
small café/restaurant nearby a good day should
be had by all. Every effort will be made to
ensure your learning needs are met.

standards in a laid back style we hope you will
